We are pleased to announce that poet Larry Rubin will be facilitating his popular CEA poetry workshop on Friday, March 27, 2009, scheduled for 2:00-3:15 p.m., at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a confirmed date and time.

Dr. Rubin has been an avid CEA'er for over 20 years and has been doing this workshop since at least 1985.

Call for workshop poems-in-progress:
This year we are calling for workshop poems in advance and will select participants based on two criteria: merit and potential of draft work and a first-come, first-served basis.

Dr. Rubin's workshop will be limited to 6-8 participants.

There will be a second workshop, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 8:00 - 9:10 a.m. This is a confirmed date and time.

Participants not selected for Dr. Rubin's workshop will be invited to participate in this second workshop, facilitated by Jennifer Semple Siegel.

Eligibility:
Participants must be members of CEA and registered for the 2009 conference.

Membership and conference information can be found on the CEA website.

Submit:
ONE poem-in-progress, 40 lines maximum, any form, e-mailed to Jennifer Semple Siegel as an MS Word document (attachment) or pasted in your e-mail message. No translations, please (unless the poem is your own work and you have translated it yourself).

On your submission, please include your name and university affiliation (if applicable), and e-mail address (if desired).

Deadline:
Sunday, February 12, 2009, by 10:00 p.m. EST

Note about the workshop format:
Last year, the workshop organizer photocopied and distributed multiple copies of participant poems-in-progress, which worked out very well. Therefore, if your poem is accepted into either workshop, you will not need to bring multiple copies.
