We are pleased to announce that poet Larry Rubin will be facilitating his popular CEA poetry workshop on Friday, March 28, 2008, 2:00-3:15 p.m., at the Adams Mark hotel in St. Louis, Missouri.
.
Dr. Rubin has been an avid CEA'er for over 20 years and has been doing this workshop since at least 1985.
.
Call for workshop poems-in-progress
.
This year we are calling for workshop poems in advance and will select participants based on two criteria: merit and potential of draft work and a first-come, first-served basis.
.
Dr. Rubin's workshop will be limited to 10-12 participants.
.
There will be a second workshop, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 9:30-10:45 a.m.
.
Participants not selected for Dr. Rubin's workshop will be invited to participate in this second workshop, facilitated by Jennifer Semple Siegel.
.
Eligibility:
.
Participants must be members of CEA and registered for the 2008 conference. Membership and conference information can be found on the
CEA website.
.
Submit:
.
ONE poem-in-progress, 40 lines maximum, any form, e-mailed to Jennifer Semple Siegel as an MS Word document (attachment) or pasted in your e-mail message.
.
On your submission, please include your name and university affiliation (if applicable), and e-mail address (if desired).
.
Deadline:
.
Sunday, February, 17, 2008, by 10:00 p.m. EST
.
Note about the workshop format:
.
Last year, the workshop organizer photocopied and distributed multiple copies of participant poems-in-progress, which worked out very well. Therefore, if your poem is accepted into either workshop, you will not need to bring multiple copies.
