We are pleased to announce that poet Larry Rubin will be facilitating his popular CEA poetry workshop on Friday, April 1, 2011, scheduled for 2:00 - 3:15, at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront, St. Petersburg, Florida. This date and time are firm.
Dr. Rubin has been an avid CEA'er for over 20 years and has been doing this workshop since at least 1985.
Call for workshop poems-in-progress:
You need not submit a poem in advance to participate in Dr. Rubin's workshop; just bring 10 copies of one poem, preferably a poem-in-progress.
Dr. Rubin will workshop 6-10 poems, depending on length of poems.
There will be a second workshop, scheduled for Saturday, April 2, 9:30 - 10:40 (time TBA). This date and time are firm. Poets whose poems are not workshopped during Dr. Rubin's session (due to time constraints or conflicting sessions) will be invited to participate in this second workshop, facilitated by Jennifer Semple Siegel.
Eligibility:
Participants must be members of CEA and registered for the 2011 conference.
Membership and conference information can be found on the CEA website.
Bring:
Ten copies of ONE poem-in-progress, 40 lines maximum, any form. No translations, please (unless the poem is your own work and you have translated it yourself).
On your copies, please include your name and university affiliation (if applicable), and e-mail address (if desired).
No deadline--just register for the conference and bring your poem copies
